Camtree Launches DI-IDEA Hub

Dec 7 / Camtree Team
Camtree, in partnership with DI-IDEA, the Digital Intelligence International Development Education Alliance based at Peking University, has launched the DI-IDEA Hub, a dedicated area of the Camtree Digital Library where teachers in higher education can publish accounts of innovations and explorations of the role of emerging technologies.

According to Professor Sun Hua of the Center for Excellent Teaching and Learning, Peking University and general secretary of DI-IDEA, the ambition for the hub is to "foster collaborative creation and sharing of digital intelligence education and research outcomes. The hub provides a permanent, globally accessible repository for teachers’ reports and educational resources."

What is DI-IDEA?

To address the opportunities and challenges facing global higher education in the digital intelligence era, Peking University has established the Digital Intelligence International Development Education Alliance (DI-IDEA) together with nearly 30 other institutions worldwide.

Established with the guidance and support of China’s Ministry of Education, DI-IDEA aims to bring together worldwide institutions of higher education to deepen international exchanges and cooperative research under joint effort, enhance the global development process of “educational digitalization”, synergize innovation, respond collaboratively to the major challenges faced by human society in the digital intelligence era, and shoulder the mission of the times to enhance human well-being.  Visit the DI-IDEA Website at https://diidea.pku.edu.cn/.

The DI-IDEA Hub

The DI-IDEA Hub is a means by which teachers can share the outcomes of their innovations and inquiries into the role of emerging technologies such as Generative AI, Virtual and Augmented Reality, the 'Internet of Things', and the potential of 'big data' in their own higher education settings.

There are many speculative visions of what future classrooms might look like, but the DI-IDEA Hub provides a platform where teachers can publish reports and cases studies based on their own experiences.  As a dedicated 'zone' within the Camtree Digital Library it can be used for the publication not only of summative accounts, but also the educational resources needed by other teachers if they are to reproduce, evaluate and extend the collective knowledge of educators.

The Hub is offered to teachers at all DI-IDEA members as a means of publication and dissemination free of cost, as well as being the publication site for results of the forthcoming DI-IDEA 'AI for Education' competition.
